17-Oct-2026. This describes the Storylines app and this website. Storylines is a VVLLC project.

Account

Sign-in is Firebase Authentication with Google, Apple, or email. We store the account id, and the profile the app creates: display name, bio, and profile picture. The explicit-content switch is stored on that same account. It is off until you turn it on.

Stories and social

Drafts stay on your device until you upload them. A published or submitted story, its files, its status, likes, and comments are stored in Firebase so other players can read what you chose to share. Comments show your display name.

Usage

Shipped builds of the app send product analytics to Firebase Analytics, which is Google Analytics, and matching events to PlayFab. Those events cover things like starting a story, visiting a node, and publishing. They are not the text of a draft. The Unity Editor does not send them.

Reports

If you send feedback, or the app reports an error, it can upload a log and a short description to Firebase Storage. That report may be emailed to us so we can fix the problem. It can include the account id, the story you were in, and recent log lines.

This website

The account page uses the same Firebase sign-in as the app. Contact and DMCA forms keep the message you send.

We do not sell personal information.

How long and how to ask

Account and story data stay while the account and the story are on the service. Reports and form messages stay as long as we need them to handle the request. To ask about your information, use contact or email storylineshq@gmail.com.
