The service

Storylines lets you read interactive fiction and write your own. Published stories can be read by other players. Drafts that stay on your device are not uploaded until you publish or otherwise send them.

We can change, limit, or stop parts of the service, including Storylines AI. The app is offered as a test build. Features can break or disappear.

Your account

You sign in with Google, Apple, or email through Firebase. You are responsible for that account and for what is done with it. Guest sessions are not a full account.

Explicit stories stay hidden until you turn them on for that account at explicit content. The app reads the choice the next time it opens.

What you write

You keep ownership of the stories, text, and files you create. When you upload or publish a story, you give VVLLC permission to host it, show it to players according to its publish status, and store the files needed to run it. That permission lasts while the story is on the service, and for the copies we need to keep for backups, abuse reports, and legal requests.

You promise you have the rights to what you upload. Do not publish someone else’s work, a private person’s information, or anything illegal. Sexual content involving minors is forbidden. We can remove a story, refuse a publish, or close an account.

Other players may read a story you publish. If the story allows a remix, they may start a new story from it. They do not get ownership of your original.

Acceptable use

• Don’t attack the service, scrape it in bulk, or try to get into someone else’s account.
• Don’t use Storylines to harass people or to distribute malware.
• Don’t misrepresent a copyright complaint. Takedown requests go through DMCA.

Storylines AI

AI features send prompts to a model provider so the app can draft text or images. Output can be wrong, repetitive, or unusable. You are responsible for what you keep and publish. We can turn AI off globally, for a group, or for one account.

Disclaimers

Storylines is provided as is. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, that a story will stay online, or that AI output is accurate. To the extent the law allows, VVLLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for more than the amount you paid us for Storylines in the previous 12 months. Today the app is free, so that amount is zero. Some places do not allow these limits; in those places they apply only as far as the law allows.

Changes

We can update these terms. The date at the top is the current version. Continuing to use Storylines after the date changes means you accept the new terms. Have questions? Send them to contact.
